The ABCA Organisation was established to assist in developing the interoperability of the member armies in order to enhance their ability to operate together in coalition. The role of the BLO is to report on trends and developments in US Army doctrine, organisation, equipment and procedures, of which the British Army must be aware if it is to continue to be able to operate as a major coalition partner; to keep their US hosts appraised of developments in the British Army; and to identify opportunities for UK/US joint development or procurement work. They report through the Military Attaché who coordinates their work.
